SAN BERNARDO.
Monasterio de Santa María de Valbuena: The Beautiful monastery is located near the River Douro, between Pesquera del Duero and Valbuena. It was founded in the middle of S. XII under Rule of St. Benedict, and was occupied by Cistercian monks who came from the French Abbey Berdon, to secularize Mendizabal.
It is now the permanent headquarters of the Foundation of The Ages of Man.
Olivares de Duero.
In his parish church is the altarpiece of San Pelayo, magnificent work of Juan de Soreda, is dedicated to San Pelayo is one of the most important pieces of Plateresque in Castile.
Olmos de Peñafiel.
He is known for being the place where seized Juan Martin Diez "The Determined" (famous guerrilla who fought against French troops in the War of Independence) to be taken to Roa, 2 years later where he was executed.

Roa de Duero.
Set on the ridge of a hill above the Douro River, Roa was an important town Vacceo, and achieved some prominence during the Middle Ages.
